Commercial Lighting Franchises information and details.

Commercial lighting franchises provide lighting services to such places as retail outlets, businesses, warehouses, and other places that have larger lighting needs than homes, apartment buildings, or other places of residence.

Commercial lighting can involve installation and repair of florescent or incandescent lighting in fixtures of different shapes and sizes. Fixtures can be recessed or hanging a few feet from the ceiling, with as few as two bulbs or as many as eight bulbs in one fixtures.

Those who own or manage commercial lighting franchises will most likely have to hold a master electrician's license. In addition, any employees who are actually involved in installation or repair of commercial lighting will also have to hold either journeymans or master electrician's licenses. It also may be necessary for the business itself to meet certain state or municipal standards for operation.

If they sell lighting fixtures, bulbs, and other equipment used on commercial lighting, they may also have to purchase retail or wholesale business licenses. It will depend on the municipality or state in which the franchise is located.

Owners or managers may need to make calls on prospective customers, submit bids for installation or repair work, and may even need to go out on calls at times. For these reasons, and others, they should enjoy working with people, cultivating business relationships, and being very involved in all aspects of the franchise and business.
